The Presets Release New Single – “Ghosts”
3:38 pm in MP3 Streams & Downloads, New Releases, Upcoming Releases by dyoon

Australian duo The Presets unveiled the next installment of their upcoming album “Pacificia”, due this September. The two already released their first single earlier in June entitled “Youth In Trouble”. From there, we heard an obvious distinction from their pop induced 2008 album, Apocalypso, and this one. We’re introduced to a now more heavier sound, one with an intended message that’s also carried in the beat. “Ghosts” is just that, with vocals and percussions that almost sounds like a plea for a better future generation. We can’t argue about that.
The Presets take stage October 27th at Club Nokia. Tickets on sale here!

New Passion Pit – “I’ll Be Alright”
7:57 pm in MP3 Streams & Downloads, Uncategorized, Upcoming Releases by dyoon
It’s been a long time since Passion Pit hit the airwaves, and everyone should remember what this bands made of. From previous hits like “The Reeling” and “Sleepyhead”, the Boston natives made a huge first impression, and it was smooth sailing from there. Heavy basslines, classic sampling, and melodic progressions, we can definitely admit that we’re kind of excited for their future. “I’ll Be Alright” returned my forgotten nostalgia for their music. From the optimistic synths and samples, to the pessimism that hides under the melodically uplifting lyrics, “I’ll Be Alright” has Passion Pit all over it.

New Matthew Dear – “Her Fantasy”
1:44 am in MP3 Streams & Downloads, New Releases, Upcoming Releases by dyoon
We can definitely get used to this. Matthew Dear is to drop a new album following his 2010 debut of “Black City”. The new album is to be released 7/28 on Ghostly International. It’s entitled “Beams”, and there really couldn’t be any better word that can excite us this much. We’ve always been familiar with Dear’s distinct style: a little electronic, some pop, and throw in the vocals. His enhanced interpretation when mixing the three is new, fresh, and pretty damn cool. Now, releasing his first release off “Beams”, “Her Fantasy” has us itching for more, and already found a comfortable spot in our list. Listen below.

First of all, we’d like to say thank you to the fan goer who recorded a live upcoming song of The xx at the Battersea Art Centre. It wasn’t for you, this would never had happened. The xx introduced “As I Am” in concert, and do we love it. From the familiar simple guitar melody, backed up by irregular beats from Jamie xx, the tune is a keeper. It is strange lyrically, usually because we’re use to the subtle sexual infatuation from before, but a change is good. Check out the video below!
