English indie rockers, The Vaccines, formed in 2010 and within a year had zoomed to the top of the UK charts, drawing comparisons to acts like The Strokes and the Arctic Monkeys. They were definitely putting the “rock” into the indie rock, and seemed determined to become much, much more. It’s only been a couple of years since then, and the boys swung through LA to show just how far they’ve come in such a short time.

The Presets – Ghosts
The Presets are about to embark on their US tour, and they should definitely be seen if you are into their music. I first caught them at SXSW about six years ago, and they came off like an Australian hit single, and I was at Big Day Out in Melbourne watching them rock a tent of thousands with an amazing show. I’m not sure I’ve seen anyone advance their live show so quickly. “Ghosts” is lower key than many of their dancier songs, but it’s got a sing-along melody that could easily come from the pubs of Britain.
